Sydney Region Arts - Visual Arts
Sydney Region Visual Arts Programs aim to promote visual arts practice in schools and provide teachers and students with access to external exhibition venues, as well as to promote strong Visual Arts programs in schools.The Following Visual Events are offered in the Sydney Region
Show Offs 2
Show Offs is an art exhibition showcasing the works of special needs students from Carinya, Minerva and Cairnsfoot Schools for Special Purposes. Arts works are to be shown at the St George Regional Art Gallery and Museum.
Not Just A Brush
"Not Just a Brush" is an exhibition of students’ work at Hazelhurst Community Gallery. It is intended to provide an opportunity for local Department of School Education and Training public school students (from Kindergarten to Year Six) to exhibit their work in a professional gallery. It aims to enhance the status and value of visual arts in the school and local community and enable students to see themselves as young artists, as well as to view the works of other young artists in our local area. Teachers participate in a series of professional learning workshops and then work back at school with their students towards creating artworks for possible inclusion in the exhibition.
Artweek and Exhibition
Primary Artweek is a series of practical workshops aimed at Year 4 and 5 students to participate in a 2 hour practical workshop to have Visual Arts making experiences in forms that are not available to them in a Primary Setting. This is followed by an exhibition at the Seaview Gallery in Education Week at Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design.
Senior Art Camp and Exhibition
This program is a 3 day/ 2 nigh Camp for Year 11 Visual Arts Students at Arthur Boyd’s Bundanoon Trust Estate at Riverview. They have opportunities to work with experiences tutors and artists to create a body of work over the 3 days. The students will create and exhibit their work in the Seaview Gallery at Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design.
